Five times published author and three times business book awards finalist.
In 2002 founded digital agency, Carvill Creative. In 2018 founded a social enterprise, focused on preventative healthcare – The Preventative Healthcare Service and in 2019, online training provision, The Online Digital Academy.
In Jan 2021, recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Inspirational Business Women by Small Business Britain. In March 2021, shortlisted as Digital Woman of the Year – and nominated for Businesswoman of the Year for the Women’s Business Awards 2021. A regular contributor to Business Insider – and in April 2021 cited by Business Insider in their Top 10 UK Social Media Experts.
‘Sustainable Marketing – How to drive profits with purpose’ – her fifth book, published by Bloomsbury, 21st January 2021 – won ‘Highly Commended’ in the 2022 Business Book Awards.
Aligned with the book, Michelle has developed training programs for CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) – to ensure that sustainability is firmly on the marketing education agenda – Course Director for The Sustainable Marketer course and 4 day Sustainable Business Transformation Program. In May 2021 she qualified with Nottingham Business School on their Sustainability and Inclusive Leadership (SAIL) course and certified Carbon Literate with The Carbon Literacy Trust – and has developed certified Carbon Literacy Training for Marketers. A champion for rethinking marketing, Michelle co-hosts the Can Marketing Save the Planet podcast which is in association with The Marketing Society – and is championing The Sustainable Marketer Manifesto – a hippocratic oath for responsible marketing – on a mission to align the approx. 10.6M marketers on the planet.
As a five times published author, she’s been shortlisted three times for Business Book of the Year. Her fourth book, Myths of Social Media – Dismiss the Misconceptions and Use Social Media Effectively for Business. (This book has already had a second edition commissioned to be published October 2022).
Michelle’s third book ‘#GetSocial – Social Media Strategy and Tactics for Leaders’, helps leaders to understand social media from a strategic perspective and gain confidence with social technologies and digital transformation – shortlisted for The Business Book Awards 2019 – Leadership Category.
Michelle also contributed the closing chapter, The Future of Leadership, to the highly successful, The Social CEO, published in 2019 and paperback republished by Bloomsbury in March 2021.
