Katherine Foster is one of the pioneers working on the link between emerging technology and sustainable development. She just has been appointed Executive Director of the Green Digital Finance Alliance. Ms. Foster is a former Canadian Diplomat who has been spearheading innovation at the nexus of technology, policy, finance, climate change and sustainable development for 30 years. She has held leadership roles at the EIT Climate-KIC, the GDFA as Chief Intelligence Officer, and several award-winning startups focusing on emerging technology for
#climate and
#SDGs. She is the author of several reports and has served on key advisory groups and innovation initiatives, including the World Bank’s Blockchain Carbon Market Pilot, the Consultative Working Group of the Financial Innovation Standing Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the MENA Sustainable Fintech Alliance, the Bank for International Settlements – BIS Project Genesis Digital Green Bonds and the UNFCCC UN Global Innovation Hub. Ms. Foster is Swiss-Canadian and is currently based in Fribourg, Switzerland.
